Risk vs. Reward – When to Avoid Medical Treatment

In this new video on medical risk and benefit  we look at how you can go into a treatment – with your eyes open. There is always a flip side to a treatment – on the one hand is benefit (you get better, get rid of the pain) and on the other side is risk (you could get worse, or get a serious side effect.)

Pretending there is no risk in a treatment is like walking across a busy road with your eyes shut. So before you dive into any treatment, first find out the upside, and the downside.

You can still go ahead if the treatment makes sense, but first you need to weigh these up in your mind. Risk is part of being alive in this world, but that doesn’t mean you need to close your eyes to it.
